Nuffnang PH hosts Blogopolis 4D

With the aim to engage bloggers and social media influencers, Nuffnang PH hosts Blogopolis 4D, Blogopolis’ fourth installment. This year, the conference was labeled Blogopolis 4D. Axon Hall of Green Sun, Makati housed this biggest blog and social media conference last February 27.

Blogopolis 4D tackled the four dimensions of blogosphere on advancing bloggers and social media influencers knowledge about the vital trends of the digital industry. This was achieved through the 4Ds – Dialog, Diversity, Device and Direction.

Nuffnang Ticket

Tickets for this conference are originally at P499 but I got my two tickets free after joining Nuffnang’s Instagram contest. I was accompanied by my boyfriend that day. When we arrived, the talks have not started yet so I participated on the partners’ games and had some chat with the [brand’s] representatives.

Chitchats with the brand representatives

I had a little conversation with the brand reps that day. I talked with Coach Ren and Leiezel of Curves Philippines. According to them, “Curves” provides 30 minute exercise and weight. The 30-minute full body workout helps burn calories & gain strength. I got introduced too with a newly launched magazine which is Purveyr. It was launched last January 28 that tackles a mix of food, arts, style and music. Yilinker on the other hand let us create our own affiliate store. They shared some information about their Affiliate Program One affiliate store can generate as much as 60% revenue share based on the mark-up price of the sold item [on their store]. Additional 5% share will be added if for referrals of new member or affiliate, comments and more. Yilinker is one of the biggest e-commerce businesses in Southeast Asia. It is like Lazada and Zalora.

I also mentioned I joined some games. I got lucky with Power Mac Center’s game that I won a ehem…ehem… Cogito Pop Smart Watch. The game is simple; we just have to post a creative photo of any Mac product that helps blogging easier. Below is the photo and my answer is on the caption.

Trivia 1: Most of the photos on my blog are captured by my iPhone 6 Tricia 2: while on the go, i blog using the WordPress iOS mobile app. iPhones make blogging easy because it is very obvious how you can get a great resolution to capture a memorable photo. It's like you are using a DSLR! I can also blog while on the go because of the WordPress ios app which is very easy to use on my phone. So when I have something to blog that I think i cannot do because of being busy, i can just peak on my phone and start blogging! Wohlaaa! Magic! It's the queen! @powermaccenter #powermaccenterblogopolis4d

The 4 Dimensions

Dialogue

IMG_9537

Nuffnang’s aim for the Dialogue talk is to share the evolution of content in blogs and how marketers use this. Jonathan Yabut , the first winner of The Apprentice Asia started with his talk “Story Telling through Brand Partnership”. He shared insights on how an advertiser collaborate and choose bloggers on promoting their campaign. His tip: Do not try to be everything in your blog. Richie Zamora a vlogger and the man behind thepickiesteater.net shared how he creates his vlogs. He pointed the software and gadgets to use to achieve a good content.

Diversity

Head on to the second dimension, Diversity is to teach how we can promote (more) of ourselves and how to make our blog stand out. RJ Ledesma, the first to discuss left us with one powerful message about how to stand out – “The name of the game is disruption. You disrupt the game or the game disrupts you.” More of diversity was tackled through Valerie Lim’s The Journey of a Blogger. She shared how she evolved through the years as a beauty queen and a stand out beauty blogger. The last speakers were the owners of the cute and full of art weblog googlygooeys.com. They are Tippy and Pong Go. Some of my takeaways from them are: Follow your heart; don’t copy, be inspired; Experiment with new styles; Filter your pegs and Embrace your flaws.

Device

What’s “breaking the Internet”? A lot has been saying that blogging and social media are those two things. Device talks about how we can promote more with the use of technology. Ramon Bautista brought humor to the crowd with his tips using witty lines. Peach Natividad of McCANN Worldgroup imparted her expertise in the digital world.

Direction

The last talk is to answer the simple question about digital media – “Where are we heading?” Sherwin Dela Cruz, iFlix’ Country Manager shared OTT or Over-the-top media or the films and TV contents showed via the Internet, without a traditional cable or satellite pay-TV service.

This is the conference I have learned a lot of ideas about blogging and influencing via social media. Just knew how we [bloggers] were able to play a big part in this digital age.

Winners of the favorite bloggers and social media influencer were also announced. Click here to view the list of winners.

        Aika,

I had a chance to re-read this post and thought of a few things. I was not there to listen but the keywords were there and so it made me think of my blog. Where is it headed? I thought when I started my blog, I had it planned out. Mostly it remains as is and as planned. However, times do change so I need to keep options open to keep up with the sign of the times without losing my identity.

I love how Nuffnang PH sets the bar for every Blogopolis annually. To be honest, I prefer this one over the first. Though there are few setbacks like the venue (which wasn’t able to accommodate everyone), and the crowd slowly leaving the conference as the talks are done through the whole afternoon. I hope they iron out the issue next year. 🙂
